Food grease is a nightmare for most people as they don’t clean their appliances frequently. This food grease gradually builds up in the oven and blocks the oven racks from sliding freely.
That’s why you must clean your oven from time to time to stop this greasing from happening. If you wipe it every time after cooking, then your oven will be new forever.
But people don’t have time to do this, so don’t worry, I will recommend some lubricants for oven racks that I use frequently and get desired results.
If you don’t want to use these lubricants, then I have already written a method to slide your oven racks easily without any chemicals (here is the link).

Instructions To Use These Lubricants:
These are common instructions to use all these cleaners. Any product-specific instructions are written in the review section. Please refer below for individual reviews.
- First, take out the oven racks and place them on a polythene sheet or plastic film.
- Now, spray the cleaner on the desired areas and leave it for some time. If the grease is heavy, then leave it for an hour or two, or else for a few minutes.
- If your oven’s interior is also very greasy, then you can spray it inside the oven and again leave it for some time.
- After that, wipe it out with a sponge and all the stubborn grease will be gone.
- You can also wash it with soap water after the sprayer to remove any unwanted harsh chemical smell.
Review Of The Lubricants:
1. Easy-Off Heavy-Duty Oven Cleaner
This heavy-duty cleaner cleans almost any stubborn grease and can be used as a multipurpose cleaner to clean barbecue grills, oven doors, broilers, broiler pans, stainless-steel surfaces, etc. If you have extremely heavy grease, then this cleaner works like magic.
Specific Instructions:
- As Easy-Off is very strong, use it only for deep cleaning. Don’t use it as an everyday cleaner to clean anything because it may spoil the appliance or the product.
- Whenever you are using this cleaner, always wear a mask as it releases strong fumes which may irritate your nose, and also open windows for proper ventilation as the strong smell remains for some time.
- After cleaning with the Easy-Off, wash the racks with soap water, and wipe them with a towel to remove any unwanted chemicals or smell of the cleaner.
Note: Do not use this cleaner on self-cleaning or continuous-cleaning ovens. Also, do not use it on aluminum, chrome, baked enamel, or exterior oven surfaces.

This oven cleaner from Easy-Off is fume free. It is designed to clean tough baked-on grease and spills. Unlike Easy-Off heavy-duty, this Pro cleaner doesn’t leave any harsh smell and is safe for self-cleaning ovens.
It smells like lime and is perfect for spot-cleaning and everyday use. You can use it to clean many things like broilers, oven doors, ovens, stainless-steel surfaces, and broiler pans.

For Spot Cleaning:
- Spray the affected areas from a 9-12 inches distance and wait for 1-2 mins.

Final Verdict
I am a regular cleaner, so I don’t get tough stains much. But sometimes, when I feel lazy and don’t clean, then stains build up gradually. That’s why I like to keep two cleaners, one for regular cleaning and the other for tough stains.
For tough stains, I use the Easy-Off Heavy-Duty Oven Cleaner, and for regular, I use Easy-Off Fume Free Pro Oven Cleaner or GP66 Green Miracle Cleaner. The Easy-Off heavy works really great on tough stains and I like to use it whenever necessary. The Goo Gone oven cleaner is also good for regular cleaning.
So, it’s always better to keep one for stubborn grease and the other for normal cleaning.
